Firsts: The First NFT Product Passport Minted from a Production App

What it is

From a product's detail screen in Empoorio Warehouse (com.empoorio.warehouse, production version 19), a host taps Create NFT passport. The app builds a dynamicNft.mint call for that product — lot, condition, custody, provenance fields — and hands it to Eoonia through eoonia://tx. The host approves in the wallet; Eoonia signs with the chain's envelope and submits; the app receives the block hash. A dynamic NFT now exists on EmpoorioChain whose traits can be updated as the product moves through the warehouse.

Why it is a first

Every other pallet exercised on the testnet in September 2026 was exercised by the team — audits, verifications, the first swap. The Warehouse passport is the first pallet call that originates in an application in production, from a user's workflow, with a real product record behind it. It is the ecosystem's thesis — a chain under things people already use — executed once.

What had to be true

  • The app's default sample data (fake products pre-filling the form) was removed; what is minted is the real record.
  • The Eoonia account link (challenge–response) had to work — it does, persisted server-side.
  • Eoonia had to encode the envelope — it is the reference implementation.
  • The chain had to accept signed transactions — since 7 September.
  • Deep links had to survive a cold start — fixed on 8 September.

What a passport is for

A physical item's on-chain record: condition on receipt, damage assessments, custody handoffs, resale history. pallet-dynamic-nft lets the traits change; pallet-nft-royalties can attach a rule to resale; pallet-logistics will record handoffs. For a second-hand or refurbished goods flow — which the Warehouse app models in detail — that is a provenance trail no spreadsheet can forge.

What is not there yet

The damage-assessment screens that would feed the passport are still unpersisted forms (the app's inventory says so). Handoffs are not yet written to pallet-logistics. The passport is minted; the trail behind it is being wired.

Speakers

The page this replaces introduced conference speakers from payment networks and device makers. EmpoorioChain's first real application user did not speak; they tapped a button in a warehouse and a pallet answered.
