The situation entering 2026
Dracma — the token — predates EmpoorioChain. By early 2026 its repository held four architectural layers stacked without archiving: an agnostic Rust core (July 2025); a Cosmos chain with CosmWasm contracts (August 2025 onward — a node that was never deployed; that chain never existed); an EVM / multi-chain (Toucan) branch; and, beginning this quarter, Substrate. The token had changed target chain four times in thirteen months.
What happened in Q1
23 February — Substrate integration begins: subxt clients against EmpoorioChain. The first code that treats EmpoorioChain as Dracma's home.
5 March — The EVM / multi-chain (Toucan) branch is archived to contracts_backup/. One of the five layers is finally put away.
Through the quarter — The Cosmos layer continues in the tree, unarchived, with empd never running anywhere. It would remain until the August forensic audit named it.
What was decided just after the quarter
1 May — The QA plan records: the canonical Dracma is native DMS on EmpoorioChain; any wrapper or bridge is outside the canonical source. The same day the runtime's token constants file is hand-edited to cede authority to EmpoorioChain. The decision closes Q1's question; making the rest of the repository stop contradicting it took the rest of the year.
Why it matters
Every later fact on this blog — DMS with 18 decimals as a field in pallet-balances, a supply cap of 3.5 B in the runtime, a public sale delivering native DMS by Merkle claim, a wrapped token on Sepolia that represents nothing — descends from this quarter's pivot. Before it, "Dracma" meant a CosmWasm contract on a chain that did not exist. After it, DMS meant a native asset on a chain that does.
What the quarter did not resolve
That the Cosmos layer stayed in the tree; that four incompatible supply figures coexisted (initial 1,000 M, cap 3,500 M, a genesis that had emitted 2,300 M, a wrapped token capped at 1,000 M); that 479 files sat uncommitted with no remote. The August audit found all of it, and the ecosystem's rule against invented figures came directly from that finding.
